Helping Families Access Food with Support from our Partners at Coordinated Care

WithinReach has seen a significant increase in people seeking health and social service resources during COVID-19, most often due to food insecurity. We are partnering with Coordinated Care to help families across our state get access to nutritional benefit programs and critical food resources.

A long-time partner of WithinReach, Coordinated Care shares our value of breaking down barriers to make it easier for families to access food and nutrition programs. It is a difficult time for many, and can be confusing for people seeking resources who have never navigated social services systems before. WithinReach is in the unique position to help families navigate the different programs, and guide them into both short- and long-term support.

Toward this endeavor, Coordinated Care has provided $10,000 to WithinReach to support an innovative food texting and outreach campaign. With this campaign, families can text “FOOD” to 96859 to get access to short-term food resources or connect with nutrition assistance programs, such as WIC or Basic Food. Awareness of this service will be built among providers and in communities through Coordinated Care and WithinReach’s outreach efforts.

Thank you to Coordinated Care for improving the health of Washington communities and supporting our work to connect families with what they need to be healthy and safe. Check out our flyer to learn more about this texting campaign.
